Machine Mastery
These classes are offered by Quilt Quarters to new owners of Bernina sewing machines, embroidery machines, sergers and embroidery software. In the classes, the new owner will be instructed on the care & maintenance of their machine, the features and benefits of the different functions and stitches on the machine, and the availability and use of various accessories for the machines. The owner will stitch different samples of stitches available on their machines and try different functions. These classes are free to anyone who has purchased a new or used machine from Quilt Quarters. The classes are offered during the day and evening. The class dates and times are listed in our newsletter, “Needle News,” and on our website, www.quiltquarters.com. To sign up for the classes, the new owner can sign up at Quilt Quarters or call 317-844-3636.
The new owner needs to bring their machine to the class and in the case of software, the security device. In the class, the student will be given a CD with a File containing a Machine Mastery Guide Book that has the written instructions on the exercises the student will do in class plus added exercises the owner may continue trying on their own. These files can be printed on the owner’s computer or by a copy center such as Kinkos, Office Depot, etc. These files are in color but we suggest they be printed in black and white to keep costs down. We ask that you sign up for Class One and then you may take any of the other classes in whatever order fits your schedule.
Class One covers the basic operation of the sewing machine. We will explain machine setup for straight, zigzag and utility stitches, correct threads and needles to use, plus cleaning and maintenance. For all current models of Bernina sewing machine. Please bring machine and accessories to Class One, Two, Three and Four B.
Class Two covers sewing buttonholes, hems, gathering, quilting and the decorative stitches. For all models

Class Four – Embroidery Features. For all machines with embroidery features. Class A – Lecture/Demo on supplies needed for embroidery, including thread, needles, stabilizers, accessories. Instruction on hooping various fabrics, garments, etc. Demonstration on software that comes with the machines. Do not need to bring machine. Class B – Hands On instruction on embroidery. Software classes for Artista Designer Software owner:
Quilt Quarters has some computers for use in class. If the owner has their own lap top, it is recommended that they may bring it to class with the software loaded. Everyone needs to bring their software security device.
Quilt Quarters and Bernina both feel that these classes are important to the new owners for full enjoyment of their machines. We do our best to offer the classes at various times so that the owners can take advantage of the classes. We do add more classes as needed, check at the stores for class times. It is important for the new owner to take the time to attend these classes so that you are familiar with your new machines features.
